The first thought over a weekend as we step into the new year is – How to stay effectively organised!
This is something I would like to explore and manage myself effectively.
This post is an effort to capture options for reference.
To start with, we have many tools and apps that would help us, in addition to those, do we have something that we can focus on to reflect and introspect?
To start with, you have many apps that help you stay organised by maintaining lists / tasks so you don’t miss out.
Some of the apps that I found useful and most of you might be aware already:
- Microsoft To-Do: the only app that’s heavily inbuilt into O365 subscription that most of our offices use, this also tags into the Microsoft Planner app which is now called Tasks
- Google Tasks: Another useful app for personal use that can be used
- Sticky Notes: An inbuilt app in Windows which syncs into O365 helps you have a stack of sticky notes of anything that you would want to jot down
- Microsoft OneNote: Another not so used app that offers options to maintain a list is the Microsoft OneNote
With the above tools at our disposal, the next question that comes to mind is how do we handle our day to day work.
I was going through my twitter profile the other day when I bumped into a few questions that would help any individual either a people manager or a individual contributor handling projects, questions which will help them stay focused and support their teams effectively.
Questions that would help one reflect on how they would want to be prepared, manage and reflect post completing their day would eventually give them thoughts to enhance their next day.
I have already started journaling a few months back where I have started writing down my thoughts which actually helped me get my focus back in the right direction.
With these questions to reflect on, I am sure all of us would benefit immensely .
I use DayOne for my journaling and it definitely seemed neat and helped me stay organised.
With the above questions, I feel 2022 is going to be a far more productive year!
